The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their 13th consecutive position of playoffs in the last game of the Clayton Kershaw regular seasonal franchise franchise.

The Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3 on Friday night at the Dodger Stadium to tie the New York Yankees (1995-2007) for the second longest playoffs streak in the history of the major leagues.

Only the streak of the Atlanta Braves of 14 consecutive appearances (1991-2005) is longer.

“A great achievement,” said manager Dave Roberts. “Never ages, you never take it for granted. A lot of hard work is needed to get there.”

Kershaw had a decision in the victory when he launched 4.1 entries, renouncing two races won in four hits and four bases for balls while struggling six batters. The 37 -year -old announced Thursday that he would retire at the end of the season.

“I wanted to make a glass to Clayton on this day, his career and recognize what we have achieved to reach the postseason,” Roberts said. “That is a step. The next step is to win this division, so we still have a job to do. Once we do that, we can focus on the postseason.”

Kershaw will make a more regular season when the team plays the Seattle sailors next week, but there is no guarantee that the future member of the Hall of Fame is a headline in the playoffs.

With Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell in the Dodgers of the Dodgers, Kershaw knows that his opportunity to launch in the postseason could be limited.

“I am excited about how they could be the next five or six weeks,” Kershaw said. “Our team is honestly stacked with a release at this time. I can do mathematics. I know there are only so many places, so I will continue trying to throw well and we will see what happens.”

“We are going to try to win the World Series. I am ready and willing to do everything possible to help.”

While the Dodgers secured a position in the playoffs, they have not yet secured the west of the National League.

The Dodgers lead San Diego’s parents in second place for four games in the NL West race, and their magic number is four to win the division. Los Angeles are trying to win their title of the twelfth division in the last 13 years and needs three more victories to reach 90 for 12th consecutive year.

The Dodgers (87-67) face the giants (76-78) in the second game of their three-game series on Saturday at 9:10 pm et.
