New York Mets continue to reinforce their bullpen before the MLB trade deadline on Thursday.
After adding Gregory Soto and treat Tyler Rogers on Wednesday, the Mets followed when acquiring the Ryan Helsley closure of the St. Louis cardinals, announced the equipment.

The Mets changed for Rogers with the San Francisco giants only a few hours before obtaining Helsley. And Soto was added through the exchange three days ago, with the GM David Stearns wasting the time to the team’s bullpen, a clear need before the deadline.
In the Helsley agreement, the Mets are sending the picture player Jesús Baez (Perspective No. 8), the Nate Dohm pitcher (No. 14) and the pitcher Frank Elissalt.

Helsley is a rent for the rest of this season, so it was believed that the cardinals, who are 9.5 games outside the leadership of the National League, would see what their market was before the deadline. It was not expected that Helsley would sign again with St. Louis.
Helsley has 21 rescues and an effectiveness of 3.00 in 36 games this season. This occurs after Helsley led the league with 49 salvages and 62 finished games for St. Louis in 2024.

In his seven seasons with the cardinals, Helsley has an effectiveness of 2.67 with 105 salvages (299.2 entries).
The METS lead the National League of the National League with a 62-47 record, although the Philadelphia Philis, a team that added its own stallion reliever in Jhoan Duran on Wednesday, are just behind them with a 61-47 record.
