The winner of the American League 2020 Cy Young is in motion.
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired Shane Bieber from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for a launch prospect Khal Stephen, the teams announced on Thursday.
Bieber, 30, has not started this season, since he has been recovering from Tommy John surgery that underwent last season.

In the free agency in the last season, Bieber signed a one -year contract with the Guardians, according to the reports, with a value of up to $ 10 million that included a $ 16 million player option in 2026.
The two-time All-Star launched in just two games last season before undergoing surgery. Bieber was closed after his first rehabilitation start when he experienced pain in his elbow surgically repaired.

Bieber launched 57 launches in his last beginning of rehabilitation and is on his way to making his debut in the season at some point in August.

Bieber had spent his entire seven -year career with the Guardians.
The Blue Jays currently have five starting pitchers: Kevin Gausman, Chris Bassitt, José Berrios, Eric Lauer and Max Scherzer, but a team can never have enough launch.
If Bieber could return near his Young shape, the tiles would have added another ace to their rotation. He won the award in 2020 during the season hit by the Coronavirus.

Stephen, 22, was the second round of the Blue Jays in the 2024 MLB draft outside the state of Mississippi. In three levels of minor leagues this season, Stephen has prospered.
Stephen has a 9-1 record with a 2.06 in 17 openings and 91.2 entries this season.
The Guardians are 54-54, but there are nine games behind the Detroit Tigers for the first place in the Central American League. It is rumored that other key players also exchange in their list before the exchange deadline.
