Islamabad:
The legislators of the opposition and treasure banks requested on Wednesday the establishment of special agricultural areas, IT facilitation centers throughout the country, the increase in farmers’ support and financing for churches and temples to promote economic growth and social inclusion.
Resuming the debate on the general budget on the fifth day in the National Assembly, Dr. Zulfikar Ali Bhatti of PML-N emphasized the need to develop rural areas and strengthen the agricultural sector. He proposed the establishment of special agricultural areas throughout the country, equipped with all the facilities necessary to improve agricultural productivity.
He also advocated incentives to farmers. In addition, he requested the creation of IT facilitation centers in rural regions and the implementation of young skills development programs, particularly in disadvantaged areas, to promote self -sufficiency.
Awais Haider Jhakar, of the Sunita Ittehad (SIC) Council, highlighted the challenges facing farmers and criticized government policies that have contributed to a decrease in agricultural production.
Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam (Fazl) urged Vice President Ghulam Mustafa Shah to broadcast a ruling that asks for a strict punishment of those involved in the kidnapping attempt of Maulana Fazl Ur’s son of Rehman and demanded his immediate arrest.
Zulfiqar Ali Behan, of the Popular Party of Pakistan, requested the imposition of an agricultural emergency in the country and the elimination of taxes on fertilizers to boost agricultural production. He also asked for the establishment of a university in Naushahro Feroze.
Chaudhry Mubeen Arif Jatt de Sic demanded the immediate withdrawal of the general general sales tax of 18 percent (GST) in solar panels. He also highlighted the difficulties facing farmers, noting that their products are sold at lower prices than their production costs.
Chaudhry Riaz Ul Haq of PML-N demanded a review of the excessive powers of the Federal Income Board (FBR) and emphasized the need to reduce fertilizer prices.
EJAZ Hussain Jakhrani of the PPP said that the Institute of Medical Sciences of Gambat (GIMS) is providing excellent services in the liver transplant. He also declared that the Autopist Sukkur-Hyderabad is a vital need of people and urged the authorities to pay attention to the project.
MNA Sohail Sultan said it is the duty of the Government to provide relief to people.
Syed Shah Ahad Ali Shah de Sic stressed the importance of offering specific incentives to empower the youth of the nation.
By discussing agriculture, MNA Nasir Iqbal emphasized the importance of the sector and urged the government to increase crop prices or reduce production costs.
