The Interior Minister of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, met with the Charge d’Affires Natalie Baker of the United States to discuss key issues, including counter-terrorism and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged points of view on the improvement of collaboration between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in areas of mutual interest.
Naqvi also reflected on his recent visit to the United States, where he maintained positive discussions with members of the United States Congress. He stressed that these meetings focused on developing a joint strategy against terrorism and strengthening bilateral relations.
“Terrorism is a global challenge, and the international community must work together to fight it,” Naqvi said.
He highlighted the ties of decades between Pakistan and the United States, noting that US support has played a vital role in impulseing the capacity of the application agencies of Pakistan’s law.
Naqvi expressed the hope that the relations of Pakistan-United States will be further strengthened during the mandate of President Donald Trump.
The Interior Minister also invited Baker to attend the next celebrations of the Islamabad Spring Festival.
Last month, Naqvi made an official visit to the United States and participated in the prestigious Lincoln Liberty Ball dinner in Washington, receiving a warm welcome from US officials and dignitaries.
During the event, Naqvi met with prominent figures, including Senator Tommy Tuberville, congressman Ken Calvert, former British prime minister Liz Truss, and Mississippi Philip Bryant governor. Discussions focused on mutual interests and pathways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The minister also extended congratulations to the American senators and members of the Congress for the assumption of the presidency of Donald Trump. “This is a historic day for the United States,” said Naqvi, expressing his confidence in the potential of the Trump administration to open a new chapter in relations between the United States and Pakistan.
Naqvi pointed out the enthusiasm of the American public during the celebrations, qualifying him as a testimony of his support for President Trump.
He expressed his best wishes to the American people and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promote collaboration.
