Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, had conversations with Iranian President Masoud fishshkian in Tehran, promising stronger bilateral cooperation and expressing solidarity about Iran’s recent conflict.
Naqvi congratulated President Pezeshkian for Iran’s “great victory” in the war, and praised the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing him as pride for the Muslim world.
The minister said that Pakistan had strongly condemned the attack against Iran and was the first to approve a parliamentary resolution that supported Iran’s right to self -defense. He also transmitted greetings by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability.
President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s support during the conflict and described the relationship between the two countries as “deep and historical.” He warned that the Zionist regime was trying to divide Muslim countries and urged unity among Islamic nations.
Fishshkian stressed the importance of diplomacy and constructive dialogue, saying that both countries had a great opportunity to expand cooperation in several sectors.
“The support extended by Pakistan during the war will not be forgotten,” he said, adding that the unity between Muslim nations was essential to counteract foreign interference.
The meeting was also attended by Iranian Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, the president’s special assistant and ambassadors of both countries.
Previously, the minister also attended a trilateral meeting of Interior Ministers of Pakistan, Iran and Iraq, organized in Tehran.
The three countries agreed to form a joint work group to facilitate pilgrim’s trips, with NAQVI announcing that as of January 1, 2026, Zaireen will only be allowed to visit Iraq through officially registered group organizers.
