Federal Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed Islamabad authorities to ensure timely completion of F-8 Exchange Chowk and Serena Chowk projects.
During a surprise late-night visit to inspect the progress, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized working in three shifts and adding manpower to the night shift to speed up construction.
He announced that the F-8 Chowk Interchange would be fully operational by February, with the aim of easing traffic congestion in the capital.
Mohsin Naqvi further ordered that a prominent national flag be installed at the Serena Chowk junction, which would increase its aesthetic appeal.
These projects are expected to provide significant relief to commuters facing daily traffic challenges.
Earlier, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the under-construction underpass in Sector F-8, Islamabad, would be opened for traffic on December 24.
During his visit to the ongoing projects at F-8 Exchange Chowk and Serena Exchange Chowk, the minister reviewed the progress at the sites. These projects are expected to significantly alleviate the city’s traffic congestion.
The Home Minister noted that the Serena Chowk crossing, built with remarkable speed and efficiency, will be inaugurated next month after being completed in just sixty days.
A week ago, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced plans to accelerate the development of eight residential sectors in Islamabad, focusing on handing over fully developed plots to allottees in a timely manner.
Sector C-14 is at the forefront of these efforts, with over 200 one kanal plots generating over Rs 12 billion in revenue through auctions. Possession of these plots will be handed over to the owners once the last installment has been paid.
In a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday, senior officials and board members discussed the progress of the ongoing projects.
