Another series, another sweep for Milwaukee brewers, when they demolished the Pittsburgh pirates, 12-5, Wednesday night.
That victory did 12 in a row for the team with the best record in MLB in 76-44.
If you asked any baseball fan to enter the season that would have the best record of the league as the year turns to the postseason, the brewers would not have said. But that is the beautiful game: any team can arise like not only a surprise winner, but a giant prepared for a world series race.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, eight times All-Star Mookie Betts, admitted that Milwaukee was not really in mind at the beginning of the season. But after playing against them, you can totally understand where this success comes from.
“At first, you’re a bit surprised like ‘Wow, they are doing very well. They do all facets well.’ But when you play against them, you really see why.
While brewers can be considered a surprise team in 2025, Betts reminded everyone that they have been quite successful in recent seasons.
The brewers earn the seventh consecutive in an epic way when Blake Perkins makes a spectacular shot against the Mets
“The brewers have always been a very good ball club. They have always been close to the bubble, they have been a lot in the playoffs,” he said.
Milwaukee won the central division of the National League in each of the last two campaigns and figures to do so three at the end of this regular season. And they have made the postseason in six of their last seven seasons.
So, success has always been there, but the closest they have arrived at the World Series have been Game 7 of the NLC 2018, which finally lost to the Dodgers. Betts was not on the team at that time, but defeated them as a member of the Boston Red Sox to ensure their first of the three world series rings.
Since that appearance of NLCS, the brewers have only reached the NLDs. They have lost in the NL Commodines Round in each of the last two seasons, including an overwhelming defeat of game 3 that reached the growing Mets of New York, which reached the NLCS.

Now, Betts thinks that things are different in Milwaukee, and pointed out a particular face facet.
“They really have a good recipe there, but their launch staff is very, very good. When you have a release, you can have the opportunity to win everything,” he said.
The launch is key, especially when October is produced. A great beginning, or closing pieces in the bullpen, it may be the difference between advancing in a series or going home.
Prospect Flamethrowing of the brewers named All-Star after only five MLB games in a very discussed movement
The brewers own the third effectiveness of the League team (3.59), which is not far behind the best Texas Rangers in the League (3.32) and San Diego Padres (3.55).
In the initial rotation, Freddy Peralta has been launching as a real ace with an effectiveness of 2.90 over 136.2 entries, putting 148 batters while walking only 50 in that period. But the first season of Quinn Priester, 24, has been a pleasure to see, since it has an effectiveness of 3.49 in an entry of 118.2 entries. José Quintana (Era 3.44), Chad Patrick (Era 3.52) and the rookie that throws flames Jacob Misiorowski (effectiveness of 2.70 in 33.1 entries) have been solid options for brewers in the rotation this year.
Then, when it is time to close the door to the opponent, the brewers can count on Trevor Megill nearest to finish it. It has 28 salvages in 44 games this season with an effectiveness of 2.20 (41 tickets). He won his first star consent of his career due to the great season he is having, although he published an effectiveness of 2.72 in 2024 in 48 games.
“They simply find ways to do it, they find ways to do things. They play a small ball, they hit home runs. They do everything,” Betts added.
When it comes to hitting, Christian Yelich is playing as the All-Star in good faith that needs to be if the brewers want to go far in the postseason. It is reducing .266/.344/.456 with 23 leading home runs in the team and 81 ranked races.

But there is also a young life in the alignment, since Jackson Chourio continues to shine with Yelich in the garden, batting .276 while sliding .474 with 17 home runs and 29 doubles in the year. From Williams Contreras to Rhys Hoskins, to Brice Turang, to Sal Fourlck, and the list continues, these brewers are implacable when it is their turn of producing offensive.
Will that last an October postseason race? If so, it will not be a surprise for Betts and the rest of MLB.
The Dodgers have lost the six games against the brewers this season.
