The National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC), a unit of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has issued multiple weather alerts based on the impact as the country is cold for generalized rains, strong winds and thunderstorms from June 29 to July 5.

The NEOC warned that heavy rains could trigger urban floods, sudden floods and landslides in several regions, including Kashmir, the northeast of Punjab, the region of Potohar, Islamabad and the upper and central level of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

“It is likely that urban floods are in low areas of Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, particularly from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am from June 29,” said the alert.

Emergencies related to rain in the districts of Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad may also arise, while significant rains in the Sargodha division can lead to localized floods.

In the areas of the North, including the divisions of Hazara and Malakand in KP, and the valleys Jhelum and Poonch de Azad Jammu and Kashmira, are possible sudden floods and landslides. Neoc warned of low -level floods on the Kabul River in Nowshera, as well as medium flows on the Swat River.

Similar risks were identified on tributaries and glacial currents in Chitral and Hunza, including the Khunjerab, Ghujerab and Baldu rivers. “Transport in mountainous and mountainous areas could be interrupted, together with communication and electricity services,” the statement warned.
