Rawalpindi:

The third phase of the privatization campaign for public schools will begin after Eidul Fitr. According to this phase, all government schools with a registration of 100 or less students will be sold to private owners.

The Ministry of Education has addressed the Education officials of the District and Heads of Education Authorities of the 43 districts of the province to compile and present a list of schools that meet this criterion.

The sources indicate that a significant number of these schools are found in rural villages, and some are also in urban areas, particularly in primary schools in cities with low registration of students. These schools will be available for privatization immediately after EID.

The measure is part of the continuous efforts of the government to rationalize the education sector and address the challenge of the resources of underutilized public schools. By selling these schools, the Government aims to reduce its financial burden.
