More than 100 police officers in Lahore have been fired from their positions for the persistent absenteeism and the refusal to perform their duties.

This unprecedented action marks the first time in the history of the city that such a large number of officers has been simultaneously dismissed.

The sources confirmed that the officers, who were part of the riot force, were fired by the orders of excavation operations because they did not appear by duty. The names of the dismissed officers, including ATIQ, Zein, Ali, Shiraz, Shan, Zubair and Aparel, have been registered in the official report.

It was discovered that the officers were absent from duty on numerous occasions, and several others refused to perform their assigned tasks. Some officers even put excuses to avoid coming to work.

The authorities emphasized that such negligence of duty and the lack of responsibility would not be tolerated within the force, stating that there is no place for officers who do not fulfill their professional obligations.
