More than 126,500 students to appear in the annual internal exams

The first phase of Karachi’s annual intermediate exams for 2025 will begin on Monday, May 5, with more than 126,500 students who are expected to appear in several groups of sciences and domestic economy. The president of the Intermediate Education Board, Karachi (BIEK), Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, said that all arrangements for fair and transparent exams have been completed.

The exams will be held until Thursday, May 29, in the morning and afternoon shifts. More than 92,000 students from the pre-engineer groups, prior to engineering and domestic economy will take their exams in the morning shift, from 9 am to 12 pm, while more than 34,500 candidates of the General Science Group will appear on the night shift, from 2 pm to 5 pm

A total of 182 exam centers have been established throughout the city; 122 for the morning and 60 shift for the night. Of these, 36 centers have been declared highly sensitive.

Two central monitoring cells have also been established in the Karachi Commissioner’s office, with Biek to supervise the process and avoid traps. In addition, complaints will operate on the offices of the attached commissioners in each district, with representatives of the Board.

Taking into account the heat wave forecast during the exam period, the Board has written to the emergency and rescue service of Sindh 1122, requesting two ambulances for the central control room. The SNDH Department of Health has also been requested to establish first aid camps and ensure that first aid and ambulance kits are available outside each exam center.
