- The report claims that only 18% of the United Kingdom consumers have used an ESIM
- Growing opportunity for non -telecommunications companies to enter the Esim market
- 56% of the United Kingdom consumers prefer to use an ESIM to avoid roaming charges
A new survey conducted by BICS has suggested that ESIM’s awareness in the United Kingdom is quite low, with only 18% of respondents who claim to have used technology.
However, when respondents realized the benefits of an ESIM for international trips, more than half (56%) said they would consider using an ESIM to avoid Roaming positions.
Interestingly, of the 2,100 adults in the United Kingdom surveyed, 31% replied that they would buy an ESIM of a retailer or a travel company. The brands that are not telecomed have already begun to capitalize on this trend, but consumer knowledge is low, with 41% insecure if your phone supports an ESIM.
The survey also suggests that despite the fact that ESIM’s consciousness is low, ESIMS demand is increasing with consumers looking for profitable ways of traveling.
“ESIMS are an opportunity that changes the game for brands through trips, retailers and beyond. Consumers actively seek profitable connectivity, and non -traditional suppliers with solid customer bases are in a privileged position to meet this demand,” said Surash Patel, director of proximus global income.
We have seen a significant influx of new ESIM in the market, with non -traditional players leading the load. Nordvpn launched Saily Esim for businesses in September 2024. Shortly after, Expressvpn announced its ESIM market entry with the launch of Holiday.com.
“With the correct approach, companies can easily unlock new sources of income and improve customer loyalty by integrating Esim into their offers,” Patel said.
