- Salesforce data reveals 84% agree they need a complete data strategy overhaul to benefit from agent AI
- 70% believe their most valuable insights are found in isolated or unusable data.
- Zero-copy architecture combines AI with data where it resides
New data from Salesforce has revealed that three-quarters (76%) of business leaders feel pressured to deliver business value with data, but incomplete, outdated, or low-quality data prevent them from doing so.
As a result, the majority (84%) agree that their strategies now need a complete overhaul to be successful with AI.
It’s not just about being able to do more with data, either, because half (49%) of data leaders surveyed admitted that they have sometimes reached incorrect conclusions due to poor context.
Once again we hear that data is key to AI success
Two in five (42%) noted little confidence in the accuracy and relevance of AI results, and data leaders estimated that around a quarter (26%) of their organization’s data is untrustworthy.
“For organizations ready to execute at scale, now is the time to shore up databases to confidently scale AI to its full potential to deliver real value and ROI,” explained Salesforce Chief Data Officer Michael Andrew.
Around a fifth (19%) of company data is believed to be siled or unusable, yet 70% believe their most valuable insights lie in that 19%.
Among the most serious impact risks of data silos and trapped data are compliance risks, difficulty making decisions, and lack of a unified view of both customers and the business.
CEO Marc Benioff described agent AI as revolutionary. “You have to get the right data,” he stressed.
Salesforce sees value in zero-copy architecture in the future of data, whereby AI can access data where it resides without having to move, copy or duplicate it.
More than half (56%) say they have already started adopting zero copy and many are already seeing the benefits. Adopters see the quality of customer service surpassing the industry standard, and many are also ahead in terms of AI initiatives compared to their counterparts.
“Organizations that treat data and AI as an integrated strategy are the ones that will successfully move from pilot to execution to see AI drive meaningful impact,” Andrew concluded.
