Islamabad:
The electoral courts decided 35 electoral requests related to the general elections of 2024 between April 21 and July 31, 2025. With these decisions, the total number of requests resolved reached 171, which represents 46% of the load of general cases pending before 23 courts in the four provinces.
Through its systematic monitoring, the free and fair electoral network (FAFEN) identified 374 electoral requests, 124 challenging the electoral results in the constituencies of the National Assembly and 250 in the constituencies of the provincial assemblies (PA).
Until now, approximately two thirds (62%) of the requests related to the circumscriptions of NA, and half (50%) of those related to the constituencies of the provincial assemblies, remain undecided.
During the report period, 28 of the 35 determined requests were from Punjab, three each of Sindh and the KP, and one of Baluchistan.
In Punjab, the four courts based in Lahore decided 15 requests, the Bahawalpur court decided nine, while the courts of Rawalpindi and Finen decided two each.
In Sindh, the two Karachi courts decided three requests. In KP, the Bannu court decided three cases. In Baluchistan, a Quetta court decided a request.
Although Punjab courts have won the rhythm by deciding the requests, the award process in the remaining three provinces has decreased significantly since April 2025. Until 12 of the 23 electoral courts have not completed any request since April 21, 2025.
In general, the three courts of Baluchistan have collectively decided 44 of 52 requests (85%) presented by the voters of Na and PA. The eight Punjab courts have resolved 94 of 192 requests (49%).
The six KP courts have decided 12 of 43 requests (28%), while the five Sindh courts have eliminated 21 of 84 requests (25%).
Of 124 requests that challenge the results of the NA constituency, 47 (38%) have decided so far. These include 30 Punjab, nine from Baluchistan, five from Sindh and three of the KP.
With respect to the Circumscriptions of PA, 124 of 250 requests have been decided (50%), including 64 of Punjab, 35 of Baluchistan, 16 of Sindh and nine of KP.
Of the 171 requests determined so far, 168 have been dismissed, while only three have been accepted.
Among the 168 layoffs, 81 requests (48%), including 24 related to the circumscriptions of NA and 57 to the Circumscriptions of PA, were dismissed for reasons of non -maintainability.
Another 22 requests (13%) were dismissed after the petitioners could not prove their case during the trial procedures.
