We have all heard the warnings about the damage that social engineering can do, but a particular demographic group still stands out as the most susceptible to attacks, and it might not be the one you think.
The new investigations of the workers of the Yubico generation (those born between 1997 and 2012) are the ones that drop the side, with an alarming reports of 62% who have committed to a social engineering attack (opening an attached file, clicking on a link, etc.) in the last year.
Social engineering attacks are not only becoming more frequent, but also more powerful, phishing attacks to AI are increasing and becoming smarter, claiming more victims than ever to convince deep and clones of voice, have been informed.
Low trust
In fact, a large majority (70%) of respondents said they believe that phishing attempts have become more successful thanks to the use of AI, and an amazing 78% have seen that they become more sophisticated.
When a Phishing email was presented, the majority (54%) believed that it was written authentically by a human, or was not sure, highlighting how convincing these attacks have become, although the respondents of all ages obtained scores similarly in this task.
Occorities, a large proportion of workers reported that they never received cybersecurity training (40%), and the deployment rate for the authentication of multiple factors (MFA) is a little less than half (48%), which means that a large proportion of organizations is unprotected at a very basic level.
Only 26% of respondents considered that passwords were the safest authentication method, but remain the most common, with the 56% of using them for work accounts and 60% of using them for their personal accounts.
