It has been officially confirmed that Motorola Edge 60 Fusion will officially arrive at Australia on May 22, after its launch in the United Kingdom in early April.
With a price of AU $ 699, the Edge 60 Fusion seeks to continue Motorola’s mission to deliver average rank devices for users who want a high quality mobile experience without breaking the bank.
It will be available in Slipstream (Purple), Amazonita (Teal) and Zephyr (Pink) of JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Amazon and Motorola, as well as Harvey Norman and Officeworks.
Motorola states that this new model has the brightest visualization of any telephone on this price support (AU $ 600 – AU $ 950) with a shine of 4,500 nit peak. It also has a “Pro grade” quadruple system that promises excellent results for users of all skill levels.
This 2025 model really focuses on an updated AI motor system that promises to simplify daily tasks. With the Moto AI voice assistant, the spoken indications such as ‘Capch Me Up’ and ‘Remember this and remember’ allow users to get their desired information quickly, and remember details or elements for later. This is a great improvement on the tools of AI I tried in Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.
You can also transcribe conversations, play music and offer suggestions. But, as the Motorola Edge 50 phones series, the Edge 60 Fusion Chamber promises to be the star here.
The first of a world for mobile cameras
Motorola takes your photograph seriously. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro remains one of the best cheap market phones on the market and the Edge 50 Fusion also offered strong results. Edge 60 Fusion’s specifications seem to continue that trend.
Motorola’s new phone has the “First Sony Lytia 700C camera in the world validated by Pantone”, which means that it can trust that the colors that see their eyes will result in the results of their camera. And with video OIS stabilization, Motorola states that users can shoot effortlessly as a professional and select outstanding photos.
However, its rear ‘quad’ camera is not exactly what is done. A deep immersion in the list of specifications reveals that it presents two lenses, a flash and a light sensor 3 in 1, all of which is dedicated to seems a quadruple system.
The main 50MP uses the new Sony sensor, and the 13MP ultra lens has a macro vision with a minimum focal distance of only 3.5 cm. The additional light sensor must be useful in low light situations, while the fourth blow is a flash that will double like the torch.
You also get a 32MP Selfie camera that can record 4K videos.
However, its greatest value can be the battery life and durability. The 5,200 mash updated battery of the Edge 60 fusion should obtain a few hours more than the 30 offered by its predecessor, something that was already impressive enough to win my Motorola Edge 50 Fusion Review 4.5 stars. The Edge 60 Fusion also retains the 68W fast charging capacity of its predecessor, promising and additional 12 hours in just eight minutes.
The new model also promises to be more durable than previous edge devices. Motorola says that it can handle temperatures from -20 ° C to 60 ° C and maintain regular performance at elevations up to 4,500 m.
Crucially, it has water and dust resistance classifications IP68 and IP69 which means that it can handle both long periods underwater (30 minutes at 1.5 m) and high pressure jets.
Although something still is missing
Only from its characteristics list, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion seems to be one of the best budget phones in Australia. Among its improved camera set, brighter screen, better battery and durability, it is an attractive affordable option for a variety of users.
However, Motorola still only offers three years of software support and four years of security updates, the same promise of support we saw for the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Pro. It is disappointing taking into account that the Moto G75 and Edge 50 Neo received five years of Android OS updates.
In a price group focused on the budget, this harms its long -term value.
Take the AU $ 699 Samsung Galaxy A56 as an example, which I think is the best budget telephone currently available. Although it offers an excellent experience for the average user at half the price of a flagship phone, it also provides six years of software and security support to ensure that it is a device that you can use in the coming years.
In the same way, the AU $ 849 Google Pixel 9A has Seven Years of operating system updates. Even the Phone 3A Pro, which only offers three years of Android updates, compensates for it with six years of security patches.
So, despite the fact that Motorola Edge 60 Fusion seems to offer a strong value, and could face the Galaxy A56, it is tarnished by the lack of software support.
Even so, I was completely impressed by Motorola’s 2024 budget, focused on the budget despite its weak support offer, so I am anxious to see what Edge 60 Fusion has reserved.
