- Dacora is the first automotive brand led by females and female
- The debut model has been designed with Pininfarina Group
- Interchangeable upholstery is only one of the many unique features
Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Mercedes-Maybach … You can soon add another name, but much less recognizable, to that list of the most luxurious car manufacturers in the world. The new American company Dacora is here and wants a piece of the ultra -height cake.
Founded in the Hudson Valley in New York by the engineers trained in Mit Kristie and Eric d’Ambrosio-Correll, the incipient brand is the first of its kind that is founded and directed by a female CEO, as well as the first to have the confidence to command $ 500,000 (around £ 370,000 / au $ 770,000) for a highly personalized electric vehicle of the years of history.
The price is established as such because Dacora states that each vehicle is “modeically made by hand” using US components and materials.
The design inspired by the 1930s, produced in collaboration with the famous Pininfarina group of Italy, pays tribute to the glamorous streamliners of the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Long bells, well -formed defenders and the option to specify real metal and tough wood inks abroad are just some of the stylistic conversation points.
Inside, you will not find any unpleasant plastic or cheap scraped surfaces, since Dacora is only turning to natural wood, leather and wool woven for its interiors.
In fact, the company says that there will be ‘falls’ twice a year that will allow customers to completely change inner fabrics with changing stations: wool for winter, bedding for summer, for example.
The unidentified debut model will be available with anything, from configurations of three to seven seats, with each seat that includes its own independent lighting and climatic controls.
Money without object
Everything is about offering practical purchase tips in Techradar, providing our readers with advice and ideas on how to choose the right devices. But from time to time, we also like to celebrate some of the most ridiculous technologies in the market: the luxurious high -end products that are simply fun to dream of the purchase. That is the type of kit that we cover in our regular column of money without objects, which can read more here.
Dacora wants to take us back to a time when driving was a sensory experience, so he has abandoned the cabin dominated by today’s screen, trusting on a single screen without a touch screen to take care of info -entry tasks.
When it is not in use, this screen apparently disappears behind a semi -transparent wood panel, while all controls are mechanical. An analog movement for two MIT trained engineers.
As for performance, Dacora has not yet announced the exact details of the Motriza EV train, but says it points to more than 800 HP and a fully electric range of 400 miles. There will also be the option of a hybrid motor train at request.
Analysis: keep up with class competition
The co-founder and CEO Kristie d’Ambrosio-Correll was the old Mirror CTO, a smart fitness product that proved to be a popular lifestyle product with the very rich.
On the basis of this plan, Dacora will open its Hudson Valley garage of 100 Acres next year, complete with production at the place, Atelier de Design and rooms for the guests to stay. Each car will be a customary personal commission, with the brand designer at hand to guide them through the process.
Customers can also enjoy cured events, “immersive experiences” and all the other lovely things they like to fill their free time.
Dacora will have to nail this side of things, because the first images of the vehicle reveal a divisive style and half a million US dollars buys many Rolls-Royce, which is still the last word in automotive opulence and the best sample of wealth.
