- MSI’s American store will only have RTX 5090 in pre-pedido, the release day
- Although the flagship can buy on January 30, it will not be sent until February 6
- This is happening in a context of broader concerns about stock levels, which Nvidia also has just noticed
RTX 5090 graphics cards of MSI that will be sold through their own store will not be made available to buy on the official release date of January 30, rather, these GPUs will be available for pre-themed that day (tomorrow) , but not sent until a week later.
According to information shared by an MSI representative in Discord, as discovered by Videcardz, the RTX 5090 will only be available for pre-themed on January 30, while the RTX 5080 can be bought and sent the same day. We are told that the RTX 5090 models of the official MSI store in the US. UU. They will not be sent until February 6.
The MSI representative said they could not talk to any guarantee about the situation with other retailers, but confirmed that these other retailers would have at least some stock of MSI RTX 5090 models (as expected).
Videocardz also points out that a PC builder in the United States (Stincebuilt) also says that MSI RTX 5090 graphics cards have been withdrawn to a launch of February 6.
Clearly, this must be due to the fact that they should have a stock of RTX 5090, and reflects what we already hear from MSI China, namely that the initial supply of the Blackwell flagp GPU will be tight and limited.
In addition to this, a NVIDIA employee (in his official forums) also recently indicated that “aggravating ones can happen” with RTX 5090 and 5080 graphics cards.
Analysis: The sadness of Consumer Gpu
Unfortunately, this is another in an old series of rumors about the RTX 5090 that has a lot of state in the stock when the flagship is launched for the first time. We cannot say anything with certainty, since all this is an unofficial talk through the vine, even if some pickles are representatives of companies that know, like MSI here.
If you want an RTX 5090, then, the situation looks very unstable, and the chances of getting one tomorrow, the official launch day, they seem extremely thin. If it is not impossible, so MSI says here (well, you can ask for a flagship, to be fair, but you will not get it for a week). This is perhaps the reason why some people have taken extreme measures, such as camping in the retailers already, hoping to ensure their RTX 5090.
More people will be after RTX 5080, yes, which has a much more reasonable price (relatively speaking). And there has been better news about that GPU in terms of stock, although it still sounds quite thin in the field, and the demand level will probably mean that this Blackwell graphics card also runs out in an instant. The additional concern with the RTX 5080 is that the price of third -party graphics cards will inflate well above MSRP in general, for many models, although we will have to see if that emerges.
In general, it is difficult to be remotely optimistic about the possibilities of obtaining an RTX 5090 in particular, but also an RTX 5080, especially given the recent comments of Nvidia, and now MSI. With scenarios such as these, the resellers, of course, rub their hands with joy before the possible profits that are obtained prices that must be obtained, which inevitably adds to the difficulty of the average player that tries to ensure a new bright GPU.
It is difficult not to disappoint for all this, and I am certainly struggling to avoid being too gloomy in my perspective with the imminent Nvidia GPU. It is not even the RTX 5080 I am considering mainly an update of the graphics card, although any hope that I can get this, since my next GPU has been cushioned almost by the conversation of potential price increases on MSRP and shares difficulties. My true concern is that the noises that are made around the stock extend to RTX 5070 (already their brother), the average range models that I am really looking at (including rumors that it could be delayed to the march).
As I said, fighting the gloom feels like a struggle up at this time, but I just have to continue reminding myself that it will only be a matter of time before the stock situation is resolved, if it develops badly with the RTX 5070 at the launch. Good? Or I am looking at an AMD RX 9070, which is where the thought of several PC players can be directed, I suspect …
