Islamabad:
This weekend, the picturesque station of La Colina de Murree saw a massive influx of tourists anxious to experience its snow -covered peaks and fresh and crispy air.
The roads that lead to Murree were obstructed with cars, motorcycles and buses, while families, friends and couples went to the popular destination, revealed a report from a private news channel.
The winter landscape of Murree captured the hearts of the visitors, with their frozen views, frozen lakes and scenic valleys, which makes it the perfect winter escape.
An Islamabad student, visiting friends, exclaimed: “I’ve been waiting for this trip for weeks!” A Lahore businessman, visiting his family, shared: “I love to come to Murree; he is very quiet and serene. The children are having fun and we are enjoying the fresh climate,” while their children played in the park.
Local vendors were equally satisfied with the tourist increase. Rashid, a merchant in Murree’s Mall Road, said: “It has been a great weekend for business. We have had many customers and energetic sales.”
Despite heavy traffic and congestion, tourists remained in a good mood, soaking in the impressive views and the animated environment. “It’s a bit full, but it is worth it,” said a Karachi tourist as he walked through Mall Road.
To administer heavy traffic, the Traffic Police were deployed along the route, advising motorists who have caution.
