- ABC’s Long-Rumored Thickets The revival is officially in development
- The popular medical comedy drama was executed for nine seasons between 2001 and 2008
- It will be issued in ABC and Hulu in the United States, but it is not known where it will be available internationally
It is time to dust off your coats and medical persons, Thickets Fans, because the rebirth of the medical comedy of the popular comedy and revival is actually happening.
First informed by Variety and later confirmed in the various social networks of the television program, the Zach Braff-Frontado project received a direct order from the US Network ABC for the TV 2025/26 season. That means that it will be done at least one season, and will be broadcast at some point before August 2026.
As confirmed in Thickets‘Official Facebook page, will be launched in ABC and Hulu in the United States. However, it is not known where the international public can see it. My best assumption is that it will come to Disney+, in fact, ABC, Hulu and Disney+ are owned by Walt Disney Company, so it makes sense that the last of those three services be Thickets‘International home. I have communicated with Disney for an official comment, and I will update this piece if I receive news.
As expected, Thickets It does not have a specific launch date, nor is there any official word about whether it is a large -scale restart or a soft rebirth of the original television program. Variety and ABC have announced that the original members of the BRAFF cast, Donal Faison and Sarah Chalke return as John Dorian (more commonly known as JD), Chris Turk and Elliot Reid. The latter is the most likely scenario, then.
The report of the new series plot provides more evidence that it will be a Renaissance of TV. By ABC: “JD and Turk Scrub together for the first time in a long time. Medicine has changed [and] The interns have changed, but its joke has resisted the test of time. The new and ancient characters sail through the waters of the Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way. “
Bill Lawrence, who developed the original series, and co-cook Apple TV+ Hits Ted Lasso and ContractionHe is directing the Renaissance of the program. BRAFF, Faison and Chalke will produce executives Scrubs 2.0 Next to Lawrence. Tim Hobert and ASEEM will serve as showrunners and executive producers.
Opinion: Do not dissect scrubs at the operating table, please
Nice that the scrubs return, I am worried that I can lose what made the original visualization not reduce in the early 2000s.
As indicated by the synopsis of the history of revival, there have been significant advances in the medical industry since Thickets Originally debuted in NBC. The same is true for society, so I hope Scrubs 2.0 be a more progressive and inclusive series than your predecessor. I will be alarmed, then, if some of the obsolete jokes and/or stereotypes of the original race are preserved.
That said, I hope Thickets‘Restart does not move too far from other aspects that made the original so good. Keep the unique camera format. Bring other characters from the first race of the program, even if they only appear in the support or cameo roles. Make sure it is as ingenious, slap and sarcastic as your ancestor. And, perhaps the most important thing, make your melodrama and emotional scenes kick me in the intestine and/or that my heart triggers.
Do everything I have outlined in the previous paragraph, and I’m sure Thickets It will be one of the best Hulu shows and the best Disney+ shows whenever you are ready to be discharged from the hospital and land in two of the best transmission services in the world. However, he does not, and the first season of the restart could also be the last.
