- Firmware Update 3.11.0 will reach the air rings of Ringconn Gen 2 and Gen 2
- Add automatic training detection to devices
- Training data is now also presented more clearly
Thanks to firmware 3.11.0 update, Ringconn Gen 2 and Gen 2 Air users can finally take advantage of a feature that should have been available at the launch: automatic training detection.
Once you have ignited it in the application management section of the application, your ring says that you can automatically detect training that is 10 minutes or more, and Ringconn promises that your technology can automatically monitor activities such as running, walking, riding a bicycle and more.
Training monitoring was previously available, but I had to remember registering training manually, which was easy to forget (more about that at one time), so this will be a serious change of play for Smart Ring users.
It is said that the update also improves the information you get from the training summary screen. You will see a cleaner summary of your heart rate areas, the energy you spent during your training and how this is broken down during the length of your exercise.
You can even see how many steps he took in his walk, so granular ideas are not limited to their most extreme sessions.
Small detail, but a big problem
I was a serious champion of my smart ring Ringconn Gen 2; I just stopped using it in months, since I have become a regular gym and the ring stands in my grip.
But I still use it from time to time and I still appreciate its factor in a subtle but elegant way combined with its long battery life.
However, training monitoring was its greatest weakness.
When trying the ring, I forgot to register approximately half a dozen training before, configuring an execution, I finally remembered activating the application in the application. From my review, maybe I have only used the function a handful of times.
This automatic detection, if effective, will be a game change.
The Ringconn Gen 2 was the ideal tracker for casual users: people who wish to monitor their dream (and sleep apnea), steps and heart rate counts, but do not care too much about the most intense training. This automatic detection means that the ring should be more attractive to the people who like to run regularly and want to precisely track their efforts.
It is so exciting that I use my ringconn gen 2 again, especially in the days to run, to take advantage of this automatic detection.
More to come
This is not all of Ringconn.
In IFA 2025 he showed his 26 gene rings used to monitor blood pressure, and although he is not ready for a complete public launch, it is said that a beta decreases soon.
We will have to wait and see precisely when that is launched, and when a fully developed version is ready for us to use it, but maybe I will have to use my smart ring with much more regularity (and just remember to remove it during my gym sessions).
