Meanwhile, the bodies of at least 25 people, including 21 hostages, killed in a siege of trains by terrorists in Baluchistan were recovered from the site on Thursday before the first funerals, authorities said.

The security forces said they released more than 340 train passengers in a two -day rescue operation that ended Wednesday night after a forbidden group bombarded a remote railway route in Bolan and assaulted a train with around 450 passengers on board.

The assault was claimed by the successful Liberation Army of Baloch (Bla).

The tolls of death have varied, and the military say in an official statement that the “innocent hostages” were killed by terrorists and four soldiers in the rescue operation.

A railway official in Baluchistan said that the bodies of 25 people were transported by train away from the hostage site to the nearby city of Mach on Thursday morning.

“The deceased was identified as 19 military passengers, a police officer and a railroad official, while four bodies have not yet been identified,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, to AFP.

A senior local military official who supervises the operations confirmed the details.

An army official previously put military toll at 28.

The passengers who escaped from the siege said after walking for hours through steep mountains to reach the security that they saw people killed by the terrorists. (With AFP entrance)
