ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq announced that he accepts the suggestion of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Gohar Khan to set up a parliamentary committee for possible dialogue between the government and the opposition party.

Sadiq said the PTI chairman had recognized the president’s role as custodian of the house and asked him to actively participate in the negotiations.

“I accept the proposal of lawyer Gohar Khan to form a negotiation committee,” he said.

Significant developments have been reported behind the scenes and the government, PTI and the establishment have expressed their willingness to talk.

Nawaz, who has considerable influence and whose approval will be key to any progress in possible talks, had previously rejected the possibility of dialogue with the PTI along with his daughter and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, with both calling the former party ruler of disruptive. entity.
