- The NBA referred to a fixed minimum price for the auction of gold blocks.
- Leasehanders openly dedicate themselves to sub -reflecting: nab.
- KP Govt auctioned the golden blocks of pleasure at high prices: Gandapur.
The National Responsibility Office (NAB), which expresses strong reservations on the minimum price set for the auction of gold blocks along the Indo and Kabul rivers, has declared that the province is undergoing losses by value of billions. It has also exposed irregularities during gold exploration operations.
According to the official documents of the Provincial Government, NAB maintains that the tenants openly participate in sub -reflection and charging RS500,000 to RS700,000 per excavator per week. Its weekly income is estimated between RS750 million and RS1 billion, so it amounts to billions, while the government only receives a meager amount.
Prime Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur told this correspondent that his government auctioned the golden blocks of pleasure at high prices. Previously, the price of a single block auction had reached RS650 million, but its government set the minimum price at RS1.10 billion and sold four blockages for around RS4.6 billion for ten years. During the last 20 years, an auction had not been held, and people had been extracted illegally, he said.
The prime minister said the project was announced two to three times, but the offers were low. His government auctioned him at higher rates. He questioned why the study began in 2023 was arrested and who stopped him.
He said that when the auction was carried out, a letter was sent to the NAB and that one of his officers was also present. He said that all legal requirements were met. The CM said that operations continue to stop illegal mining.
According to the available documents, at a high -level meeting held at the NAB headquarters on August 7 and attended the main provincial officials, including Chief Secretary KP and Secretary Minerals, the NAB investigation revealed the price of the reservation of the gold blocks deliberately. The 2015 study conducted by the National Center of Excellence in Geology, Peshawar, which had identified gold reserves that vary from 0.21 to 44.15 grams per ton, was also ignored. Instead of following the KP 2022 auction rules, the department intervened to benefit specific bidders.
In addition, the geological mapping project launched in 2022 for new estimates of mineral resources was arrested in November 2023 only in the case of gold of pleasure, which increases the suspicions of deliberate concealment. The previous auctions had also failed due to bad advertising that failed to attract international investors.
The documents show under the auction rules, if an agreement is not ended within 14 days, the offer must be withdrawn. However, despite months delays, contracts and allocation letters were issued. Mining operations even continued in November 2024 despite an order of stay of the Superior Court of Peshawar.
The NAB highlighted the serious violations by the lease holders, such as not carrying out environmental impact assessments, not obtaining the NOC of the Environmental Protection Agency, not installing processing plants, not following exploitation schemes, not presenting production or sales records, using dangerously and illegally using unqualified miners.
According to the NAB, more than 1,500 excavators operate illegally in the area. The lease owners are charging RS500,000 to RS700,000 per weekly excavator, thus winning RS750 million to RS1.05 billion per week. It is estimated that Billones have already earned, while the government is paid only an amount of the token.
