Nadra issues CNIC with validity for life for citizens

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new initiative that offers computerized national identity cards for life (CNIC) to Pakistani citizens who voluntarily compromise their organs.

These intelligent national identity cards will carry a symbol of green heart as a humanitarian contribution mark.

Eligible people of 18 years of age or older can obtain the National Intelligent Identity Card (SNIC) or the National Identity Card for Pakistani abroad (Nicop) visiting any Nadra registration center.

The function can also be accessed through the Pak-ID mobile application.

Meanwhile, the National Database and Registry Authority (NADRA) has launched a digital system for the birth and death registration in hospitals and health centers throughout the country.

According to a Nadra spokesman, agreements between Nadra and provincial governments to modernize the civil registration system have been signed.

A formal signature ceremony was held in Karachi, where Sindh’s Secretary of Health, the Secretary of Local Government and the general director of Nadra Sindh, Ehtesham Shahid signed the agreement.

The Sindh Minister for the local government, Saeed Ghani, was also present at the event.
