The WNBA veteran, Nallessa Smith, was exchanged for the wings of Dallas to the Aces, and the deal was clearly blind after reacting on social networks.
“Sick of my stomach, I have never seen this, but … I love you Dallas Nation, thanks 4 everything,” he wrote in X after the news about trade came out.
It was announced on Monday that the ACES acquired Smith, who has been fighting this year, for a first round of 2027.

The Wings have been fighting this year, having a 1-11 record, Smith has not gone well with his new team. I was averaging 6.7 points and 4.9 rebounds, both minimal race, more than 18 games.
Smith was acquired by wings in a low season exchange with Indiana fever, since Dallas tried to build a better list around Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. Unfortunately, the movements did not work, and Dallas hastened to recover the assets in return.

It is also worth noting that Smith was playing with his girlfriend, Dijonai Carrington, who also joined the wings this low season. They were teammates previously in Baylor, and have had a relationship since then.
Carrington simply published a broken heart emoji when the news fell, followed by a separate publication with photos of herself and Smith inside and outside the court.
However, Smith continued his publication explaining his surprise with some positivity while heading to Las Vegas.
“In another note although [sic] If I could have chosen anywhere to go, it would have been Vegas, so Hella 4 this new opportunity [sic] My goat, “Smith wrote in X.

While Smith did not specifically say who he considers his “goat”, it is a fair assumption to say that it is the three times MVP of the WNBA and the twice champion of the League A’JA Wilson, who leads the ACES in his eighth season since the number 1 was taken in general in South Carolina in 2018.
Meanwhile, Smith was the general selection number 2 of the fever in 2022, where he made the first team of the WNBA All-Rookie after averaging 13.5 points and 7.9 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per game. He finished third in the rookie vote of the WNBA year.
For the first time in his career, Smith played less than 20 minutes with Dallas, but maybe that will now change with Las Vegas.

The ACES are currently seventh in the WNBA classification, and the fifth at the West Conference, with an 8-8 record to start the year.
The alleged first game of Smith with his new team will be against his former team, since the fever receives the Aces on Thursday night in Indianapolis.
