Nascar News: Alex Bowman crashes in Michigan

The Nascar Cup series, Alex Bowman, received a hard blow on Sunday during the Firekeepers Casino 400 in Michigan International Speedway.

The number 48 driver was driving behind Cole Custer and Daniel Suárez in Tour 67 when Custer released and hit Suárez and Bowman. Suárez and Custer turned while Chase Briscoe released trying to pass the butcher shop in front of him. Austin Cindric was at the bottom of Custer and seemed to have avoided the disaster.

Bowman hit the head of the wall tightly and bounced down the track.

He took a brief moment, but Bowman was able to leave the vehicle under his own power. The red flag was stirred and the race was briefly suspended when emergency teams worked to clean the wreck and make sure that each pilot involved left the track.

Bowman spoke with Amazon Prime Video after leaving the center of attention.

“Yes, that hurt a lot. Probably the best of the blows in the successes I have received,” he said. “It seems that 41 was released, or the 2 got into him or something. At that time, he was right next to the trip, he could not do anything. Only, ‘Oh S —, this is about to hurt really bad.’

“I hate that. I hate that for our team. They have been two very difficult months.”

Hendrick Motorsports pilot finished 36th last week in Nashville and will end 36 in Michigan. It has finished outside the Top 20 in four of the last five races.
