Chase Elliott took home two square flags in Talladega in his career: last weekend he fell short.

However, he has been very successful there. In fact, in his first race there, he ended in fifth place, and in 18 races since then, he has eight Top 10 on the Alabama racing track.

“I hope to go there. Talladega has always been a small career at home. He is very close to where we live, so he is always very pleasant,” Elliott said, Dawsonville’s native, Georgia, in a recent interview with Pak Gazette Digital. “A race that you can easily drive, fans have always been really good with me, which makes it fun and feels at home.”

Talladega is one of Nascar’s main places, understandably.

“The madness and chaos that is the painting is extremely known with certainty, only the party and destiny that is,” said Elliott. “I really don’t think people necessarily care if the race is good or bad, I think people are more there for the environment.”

“Many people care about what the race is, but I think people choose the experience many times and stay for a good career on Sunday too.

A fifth place is not something to ignore: it was his third top five this season, and he also has six top 10.

However, it also has two last places and a 20th place in the registry this year and still has no victory this year. Then, despite being in fourth place in the classification of the Cup series at this time, Elliott believes that his season has simply been “Ok.”

“There have been some high points, good finishes in weeks that we do not deserve them, and bad finishes in weeks in which we probably deserved to have better. There have been bad weeks and also good weeks. Unfortunately, it is not good enough to win, but there has been a couple of scenarios where we were in the mixture,” Elliott said.

“We have been in the entire board, certainly not the level of consistency I would like to see. But much margin of improvement. That first section was a warm -up, and now we go directly to the championship in November. Many races ahead, a long time to gather it or not. It depends on how we execute the coming months.”

Elliott won the title of the Cup of the Cup, its lonely championship, in 2020, its best ending since then is the fourth, which had both in 2021 and 2022 before continuing with a 17th place in 2023, and then seventh last year.

Of course, it is not easy to go on top every year, but to do it, “we need to find some consistency.”

“We had a legitimate shot to win the race in Martinsville, go to Bristol and very not in the mixture,” Elliott said (finished fourth and 15 in those races, respectively). “Just trying to be more consistent in all areas and have that kind of performance when we are able to win more frequently and do it in different types of careers, sizes and places and simply get the impulse in the right direction. It has been a bit irregular, so we have to make me go here. I think we can, just that we continue to be diverting.”
