“I come from a football fund. You get used to it,” said Smith from Fox Sports, adding that he was “all good.”

Berry also had a moment Randy Johnson.

The vehicle hit a bird while on the racing track, driving up to almost 190 mph speeds in stage 1. The bird was killed.

“I have certainly witnessed it before, and they can cause some damage,” said Berry’s crew, thousands Stanley, to journalists after the race, through Frontstretch. “They can wreak havoc and even destroy some drums of the windshield and things like that.

“Many times when we come here for a first practice or a rating and things, we will see birds flying around the racing track. So, it is not a great surprise that we end with one on the windshield.”

Stanley said the bird’s strike did not affect the performance of the car too much.

Berry is in the 21st position in the classification of the Nascar Cup series.
