Canadian driver Amber Balcaen may not have been competing in Daytona 500, but he still felt the energy of President Donald Trump when he arrived at the Daytona International Speedway.
“I am Canadian, but I have never experienced something like that. You could feel the energy and still talking about that, it gives me chills. It was really good,” Balcaen said during a recent appearance in “Outkick The Morning with Charly Arnolt” by Outkick.
“I ran the day before, so I couldn’t listen to him on the radio, but I was listening, and I can’t even imagine how drivers should have felt at that time.”

Balcaen, 32, ran in the Acra Menards series the day before Daytona 500, which Gus Dean won.
Balcaen said that Trump’s presence added even more to what is already an incredible atmosphere.
“The Daytona 500 is known as the Great American Race. It is Nascar’s Super Bowl. Then, having Donald Trump, or the president of the United States there, I mean that energy is already absolutely electric that day in Daytona. But having the president there, just added another level.”

Trump became the first president to attend Daytona 500 twice when he visited the racing track earlier this month.
After talking to some drivers in Pit Lane, he rode in the presidential limousine, “the beast”, since he took a rhythm turn before the green flag flew.
William Byron won the Daytona 500 per second time in his career and spoke with Pak Gazette Digital earlier this month about what Trump meant attending.

“It was quite good,” said Byron. “I think that every time you can make a acting president come to see your sporting event, it is very special. And to take the time to do it it was really great. Just be able to see that the caravan crosses the track and the various things he did when he was there was great.
“He brought a lot of energy and emotion to the race before he began.”
