Karachi: Naseer Soomro, one of the highest men in the world, died in the district of Sindh Shikarpur on Monday at the age of 55, confirmed his brother Riaz.
According to Riaz, Naseer had suffered a lung disease in recent months and was receiving home treatment. Its funeral prayers will be offered in Shah Muhala, Shikarpur today (Tuesday).
Naseer had seven feet and nine inches high and was considered one of the highest people in the world. Due to its high stature, Naseer was even used by the national airline.
He caught the attention to Pakistan from all over the world due to his extraordinary height.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed a deep sadness for the death of Pakistan’s highest person.
He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the deceased soul and by force and patience for the afflicted family.
“In this moment of pain, the entire nation remains in solidarity with the family of Naseer Soomro,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz. “That Allah gives patience to the family of the late Naseer Soomro. Ameen.”
Sindh’s Prime Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Governor Kamran Tessori, along with several leaders of several political parties and chosen representatives of Shikarpur, expressed their pain for the disappearance of the highest man in the country.
