Pakistan commemorates the 148th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Wednesday with fervor and enthusiasm.
The day began with prayers for national unity and prosperity, followed by 21 gun salutes in all provincial capitals. The national flag was raised atop government and private buildings across the country.
In Karachi, a changing of the guard ceremony took place at Mazar-e-Quaid, the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation. A contingent from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul took up guard duties at a formal parade.
The chief guest was Major General Iftakhar Hassan Chowdhry, Commandant of the academy. He laid a wreath, offered fatha and wrote his thoughts in the guest book.
Special ceremonies were organized across the country, including seminars, cultural exhibitions and debates that explored Jinnah’s leadership and vision for Pakistan. Schools and universities held competitions centered on their principles of unity, faith and discipline.
State media aired documentaries and programs to honor Jinnah’s role in the creation of Pakistan, while newspapers published special supplements detailing his enduring legacy.
PM Shehbaz and President Zardari pay tribute to Quaid
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam and acknowledged his extraordinary vision, courage and unwavering determination that led to the creation of Pakistan.
In his message, the Prime Minister described Jinnah as a leader of exceptional caliber who believed deeply in the principles of unity, justice and equality. He highlighted that Jinnah’s life continues to inspire as an enlightened teacher, visionary lawyer, principled statesman and charismatic leader.
Prime Minister Shehbaz underlined that Quaid’s dream was a Pakistan where all citizens could live with dignity, freedom and equal opportunities, regardless of their faith or ethnicity.
President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam and stressed the importance of upholding the values of social justice, economic equity and rule of law to realize Jinnah’s vision.
He urged Pakistanis to invest in the education of youth and work for the upliftment of disadvantaged communities. He highlighted Jinnah’s dream of a peaceful and moderate Pakistan, and called for harmony both within the country and beyond its borders.
Armed forces pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam on his birth anniversary: ISPR
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, service chiefs and armed forces of Pakistan paid heartfelt tribute to the founder of the nation.
In a message issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army expressed its admiration for the enduring vision and exemplary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam.
The statement highlighted his tireless efforts that united the nation and laid the foundation for a sovereign and independent Pakistan.
The announcement further highlighted the military’s unwavering commitment to the nation’s founding principles: unity, faith and discipline, and declared these values as an enduring guiding light for the country.
