Islamabad:
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs is doing everything possible to introduce a National Integral Fishing Policy in consultation with all interested parties to reinforce the Pakistan fishing sector to improve its contribution to the country’s economy and boost income from seafood exports.
An official of the Ministry said that apart from a broader national consultation process, workshops were held in Karachi and Lahore and a final advisory workshop for June in Islamabad is planned.
He said that the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy Initiative marked a vital step to build a sustainable, inclusive and economically viable fishing sector in the country.
