HYDERABAD:

The Sindh Rehbar Committee criticized the December 16 Sindh Assembly resolution that paid tribute to members of the Bihari community who fought alongside the Pakistan Army in 1971 in Bangladesh. A committee meeting in Hyderabad on Thursday described the resolution as part of a government plan to permanently settle migrants in the province.

“Such a move by the Sindh Assembly is a deception against the people of Sindh and their interests,” said a statement issued after the meeting, chaired by Jeay Sindh Mahaz leader Riaz Ali Chandion. The meeting included Dr Niaz Kalani (Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz), Nawaz Khan Zaunr (Jeay Sindh Qaumi Party) and Rawal Karnani (Jeay Sindh Tehreek).

The leaders warned of ongoing conspiracies aimed at undermining the unity of Sindh, citing administrative and local government problems in other provinces.

They highlighted that Sindh has existed for thousands of years and no force can divide the province.
