The Denver Nuggets fired coach Michael Malone and General Manager Calvin Booth on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
According to reports, David Abelman will be the interim chief coach.
The reported decision to fire Malone is shocking. Nuggets have 47-32 this season and are 1.5 games behind Los Angeles Lakers for seed number 2 at the West Conference.
Nuggets have only three games in the regular season before the playoffs begin. Denver has had problems lately, since they have lost their last four games and have won only three of their last 10 games.

Malone trained the Nuggets for almost 10 seasons and directed the franchise to his first NBA championship in 2023. Malone was 471-327 in his Nuggets career, and his 471 victories are the greatest amount of coach in the history of the franchise.
Booth was promoted to general manager in 2020 after he was hired as an assistant general manager in 2017 and was a general manager when the team won the NBA title in 2023.
