Rawalpindi:
The National Cyber Crime Research Agency (NCCIA) has initiated an investigation into the alleged use of the X (previously Twitter) account of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) to propagate the antistatal narrative.
According to the sources, a three -member Nccia team, led by Ayaz Khan, visited Adiala prison to question the founder of PTI. However, they added, the founder of PTI refused to cooperate with the researchers and insisted on the presence of his lawyers.
The team had asked several questions, including who operates Imran’s X account, from where it is accessed, to whom the access has been given and if it was aware that the content published by the account was anti-state.
The sources said the founder of PTI refused to reveal who operated his account. He demanded a written questionnaire and insisted on answering only in the presence of his lawyers.
The Nccia team remained inside Adiala’s prison for more than an hour, but returned without progress.
