NDMA emits heat wave alert in Pakistan from April 22 to 27

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert throughout the country for a possible heat wave that is expected between April 22 and 27, warning about the dry and unusually hot weather in most regions, said Express News.

According to the NDMA notice, much of the country is likely to experience high temperatures and dry conditions throughout the period. The prognosis is particularly worrying for Baluchistan and Sindh, where temperatures are expected to remain significantly above normal.

Similar climatic patterns are anticipated in much of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltist and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

However, lightly clouded rains and skies are expected in specific districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi, Swabi Swabi, and Wazi.

Gilgit-Baltistan and several areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir can also see occasional rains during this period. The NDMA has urged local authorities to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions, particularly in areas with extreme heat risk.

The public is recommended to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours and protect vulnerable people, including children, elders and those with respiratory conditions.
