ISLAMABAD:

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) is scheduled to hear on Thursday (today) a request filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) seeking an increase in electricity tariff under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism.

If approved, power consumers could face an increase of Rs 0.48 per unit for a month.

According to the CPPA, a total of 8,487 million units of electricity were generated in December, while 8,208 million units were supplied to distribution companies at an average cost of Rs 9.62 per unit.
