The subtitles and the best transmission services are a match made in the sky: Netflix says that almost half of its visualization hours in the US.
That is great, but Netflix has identified a way to make it more useful for many spectators when one of the best Netflix films or the best Netflix programs are seen: subtitles that only show spoken dialogue.
The characteristics of existing and very useful subtitles will not disappear. Rather, Netflix is only adding an additional option.
How will the new Netflix subtitles work
At the moment, the subtitles you get in Netflix are designed for deaf people or with hearing problems. And that means that the subtitles are for everything, so they will tell you if a phone is playing, or if there are spooky sounds, or if there is an explosion.
Those subtitles, of course, stay, because they are very important.
But subtitles can also be useful even if they do not have hearing problems: think of completely incomprehensible ruin in The dark gentleman gets up.
Some characters are difficult to listen, and the sound mixtures of some films and programs do not always make speech as strong as some of us would like.
Light the subtitles to avoid “What did she say?” The moments are useful for that, but it means that we can get many details that we do not need. Think “(Dramatic music reproduces)” or “(telephone rings)”.
As of today, you will see a new option in the subtitles menu. Will only be available in You Season 5 Today, and is only for English language options. But soon it will be much more available and will also go to other languages.
Now, when you go to subtitles, you will see two options for English subtitles: English and English (CC). English is purely for spoken dialogue, and English (CC) gives you all the Shebang.
