As for the story, Ray Gunn is set in 1939, in an alternate universe city called Metropia. According to Netflix, it will see “private detective Raymond Gunn [get] involved in a case involving aliens, murder and a multimedia star called Venus Nova.”
“Ray Gunn “It’s been on my mind for over 30 years,” Bird said in a statement accompanying the announcement of one of this year’s new films. “The film is a mix of science fiction and classic detective films from the 40s; it is Maltese falcon meets Buck Rogers. I have been a fan of both genres and combining them seemed fun and an opportunity to play with many very cinematic elements and extreme characters.
“There are a lot of people who don’t watch animation. It’s a group I’m eager to persuade. [to watch this]because it is an amazing art form that is too limited in people’s minds. “Animation as a medium is too interesting to limit the type of stories that can be told.”
Who is part of Ray Gunn’s cast?

In addition to all the aforementioned revelations, Netflix has also confirmed the first three actors who will be lending their vocal talents to some of Ray GunnThe main characters.
For starters, Marvel alum Scarlett Johansson is on board as the voice of Nova, one of Metropia’s megastars and arguably the film’s femme fatale-like character.
“Having the opportunity to collaborate with Brad Bird is a milestone in my career,” said Johansson. “I have loved his work my entire life. This project is so uniquely special because it is a complete realization of where Brad currently is on his artistic journey. I can’t wait for audiences to see this extraordinary animation that is unlike anything else in existence.”
Joining the Jurassic World: Rebirth and Lost The actor in translation on the list is Sam Rockwell (iron man 2, The bad ones) and Tom waits (Seven psychopaths, licorice pizza). Neither star’s role has been confirmed yet, but I suspect Rockwell will voice the title character, and Waits will likely play his alien detective partner.
As I mentioned before, Ray Gunn will arrive on Netflix sometime later this year. It’s also not the only animated offering from the streaming giant that’s been in the news recently. Last Thursday (April 2), Netflix released the first trailer for Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan’s new film. Interchangedand the family film will arrive on May 1.
