- A new report states that Airpods Pro 3 will have two health sensors
- They could track heart rate and temperature
- But the expected live translation function may not be ready in launch
The next great Apple launch event has been announced for September 9, and we hope to see a new Airpods Pro 3 model presented there, along with the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Series 11 range.
There has been a surprising lack of leaks on the Airpods Pro 3 in the accumulation of the event (apart from a small one about the case, causing a change that I am not a fan), but a new 9th5MAC report can reveal some interesting things.
First, UP it says that the Airpods Pro 3 will have heart rate sensors, which has been rumored for a long time, and that it seemed more likely when this technology appeared in Powerbeats Pro 2 of Beats, since Apple also has beats.
But the report also says that new headphones will include temperature sensors. This could be interesting because the ear is an excellent place to measure the temperature, and the temperature is something like a missing element in Apple’s health monitoring system.
Recent Apple Watch models, which begin with Apple Watch series, can detect temperature, but only in a very limited way: they can track it as a trend over time, as part of the monitoring of reproductive health for women, but do not include an instant temperature reading to verify if it is heating when feeling sick, for example.
This is because the doll is not a great place to track its temperature, but, as I mentioned earlier, the ear is quite good.
Something that we do not expect to see this time is the addition of long -term cameras to the Airpods Pro 3, although they could be a great security victory if they arrive and when they arrive.
Not so alive translation
The report also states that the Rumored live translation function for Airpods Pro 3 will not be available at the launch, and will be added through a software update on a later date.
This is becoming more common for Apple, even with updates for the iPhone iOS software. Apple now often announces a variety of updates in its great WWDC event, where it reveals all its main software changes, and then those updates are won during a few months.
I think this is a good thing, since it gives Apple time to polish things more, and a live translation function obviously needs to work quite well, or could lead to some uncomfortable problems.
My biggest shelter with the rumored translation function is that it seems to be exclusive to Airpods Pro 3, although I have to assume that all the processing would be carried out on its iPhone, so I would think that at least it could work on Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods 4 as well.
Maybe it will surprise me, and that will be the case, but I suspect that this feature will continue to be one that differentiates Airpods pro 3 from their predecessors, and for people like me, who are happy users of Airpods Pro 2 in the long term, feel the phomo and want to give Apple some cash.
We will discover it soon: the Apple event is next Tuesday, September 9, starting at 10 am / 1pm est / 6pm BST, which is aest at 3 am on September 10.
