New budget to focus on education, health: bugti

QUETTA:

Baluchistan’s prime minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, said that the next provincial budget will focus on health and education sectors and there will be no space for politically driven development schemes.

The CM made these comments while presided over a meeting on Tuesday at the Secretariat of the Principal Minister. The meeting reviewed the preparations for the next Baluchistan budget 2025–26 and the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers and parliamentary leaders of the coalition parties. Participants participated in detailed deliberations on development priorities, effective allocation of financial resources and initiatives aimed at public welfare.

During the session, Prime Minister Bugti declared that the next budget would focus on sustainable development and the genuine needs of people.

He assured that the recommendations of the parliamentary committee would be carefully incorporated into the final draft of the budget to guarantee inclusion and relevance.

He reiterated the commitment of the provincial government to transparency and responsibility, particularly in the use of development funds. Bugti emphasized that health and education would receive the highest priority and that all efforts would be made to guarantee the allocation of resources based on merit in all districts and union advice.

“There will be no place for politically driven schemes. Each area and all citizens of Baluchistan will be treated equally. It is my greatest responsibility to guarantee transparency in the distribution of funds,” he said when he addresses parliamentary leaders.

The meeting marks a significant step to finish a budget for stimulating economic growth, improving infrastructure and expanding social services throughout the province.
