New expected rain spell before EID, says Men Office

The Pakistan weather department has predicted generalized rains, thunderstorms and possible hail storms in several regions in the days before Eidull Fitr.

The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) said that the wet spell is expected between March 25 and 27, which affects the upper and central areas, with predicted snowfall on mountainous regions.

According to PMD, the showers will probably hit Buner, Dir, Malakand, Swabi, Charsadda, Abbottabad and Peshawar on March 25. Other areas, including Karak, Lakki Marwat, Waziristán del Norte and del Sur, and Dera Ismail Khan, could also experience rain, hail and snow at high altitudes.

It is also expected that Islamabad, the region of Potohar, Murree and Galiyat receive light and light snowfall between March 25 and 27. Meanwhile, Central Punjab will see scattered rains during the same period.

In Sindh, it is likely that dust storms is March 25 and 26, while it is expected that parts of Baluchistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Chaman and Mastung, receive rain.

The Met Office also warned about thunderstorms and hail, which could damage electricity lines and solar panels, while earth landslides remain a risk in mountainous areas due to moderate to the seeds.

PMD has issued an alert with respect to severe storms in the high Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which could damage permanent crops, particularly wheat. Strong winds and hail can also cause structural damage in affected areas.

The authorities have advised residents and farmers who take precautionary measures before expected climatic interruptions.
