A new route has been announced for Karachi’s women-only pink bus service, which will operate from Abdullah Chowk to Numaish from November 17, 2025. Specific travel timings have also been set to make commuting safer and more convenient for women in the city.
Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the details on Saturday. He said that the Pink Bus will be available at three specific times throughout the day, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In the service, dedicated exclusively to women, their comfort and safety during the trip will be prioritized, Sharjeel said. He added that “this service will help reduce the difficulties faced by women during daily travel in a big city of Karachi.”
The buses will have security, tracking systems and trained staff, the minister said, adding that the Sindh government plans to expand the service to other areas in the future.
Sharjeel said the government’s goal is to provide women with reliable and safe transportation options, allowing them to pursue their education and careers more easily.
“This is a significant step towards a safe urban environment for women and the Sindh government will continue to take steps to provide such facilities to women in the future,” Sharjeel said.

Early last year, the government added 18 new buses to the Pink Fleet. Once the service went live, it was an instant hit with women in the city.
With the fare set at Rs 50 and girls under five years old able to travel for free, the Pink Bus added a much-needed travel option for the women of Karachi.
The second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme will also begin soon, as announced earlier this month. This initiative also seeks to empower women in the city in their mobility and independence.
