Rawalpindi: The alleged case of honor murder in the Pirwadhai area of Rawalpindi gave a new turn after the second husband of the deceased woman was delivered to the police on Saturday night, police said.
The case involves the murder of a 19 -year -old woman, according to reports, killed in the name of the so -called honor after a verdict of Jirga and secretly buried in a local cemetery.
The woman, married to Zia-Ur-Rehman, had allegedly left her house on July 11 with gold jewels, 150,000 RS of RS.
He later learned that he had married a man named Usman, despite being married, according to the FIR.
It was believed that she was killed on July 16 and buried the next day.
However, in a new turn, the second husband of the woman, Usman, gave himself to the police last night in the Pirwadhai area of Rawalpindi.
According to Nikahnama (marriage form), the couple had married on July 12 in Muzaffarabad.
Usman, originally from Chehla Bandi, Muzaffarabad, works in a workshop near the Pirwadhai bus stop. The girl had married him on July 12 in Muzaffrabad and had previously submitted a statement before the judicial magistrate and sought protection against the Court.
In her statement before the court, the woman said she had voluntarily married to Usman and revealed that her father had died, her mother had married again and that her first husband had divorced verbally, according to police sources.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ilyas, the father -in -law of the victim and the father of Usman, recorded a video statement that said that he and his family live modestly working as workers, and organized RS30,000 to 40,000 to help the victim ensure the protection of the Court.
“When he asked for protection, I organized between RS30,000 and 40,000 and took it to the Court. I made the marriage and presented statements in the court.
However, four days after the wedding, armed men allegedly entered their home and threatened the life of the family, Ilyas said in a video statement.
The family then returned the woman to her relatives after her marriage was completed. Tragically, they learned two days after his murder, he said.
Fearing that his son could be falsely involved in the case of murder, Muhammad Ilyas said he voluntarily delivered Usman to the police.
He appealed to the authorities to provide security to his family amid threats.
