Ward did not beat the bush at the press conference after the game.
“If we keep it a dollar right now, we,” he said bluntly. “We are 0-4. At this point, we have nothing to lose. We drop a quarter of our games and we still have to do something. We have to block, especially me. From the offensive line to the defensive line to the special teams to the three phases, we have to play together.
“We have not yet played together this year and that is something, you know, we want to preach about it: ‘Every day, every day we have to do better,’ and we are doing that, but it has to appear on Sundays. It has not yet appeared, but it has to appear next week.”

Ward was pushed to the initial role after Will Levis suffered a low seasonal injury that cost him his entire 2025 season. The winner of the Heisman trophy had shown glimpses of what could become as a player, but has been inconsistent mostly.
The Texans Campo Marshal, CJ Stud, seemed that he had returned to his normal self, following three consecutive games of questionable game. He had 22 of 28 with 233 air yards and two TouchDown passes. The Woody Marks corridor had a touchdown on the floor.
