Residents and California schools have faced recurring instances of transgender athletes competing in girls’ sports in recent months, which caused national scrutiny; interruption of academics, athletics and family life; And even demands.
On Thursday, some of California’s affected residents saw Governor Gavin Newsom admit in their new podcast that believes that the transgender athletes compete in girls sports are “unfair”, but justifies allowing it to happen.
“It’s deeply unfair,” said Newsom about transgender athletes who compete with girls. “There is also humility and grace … it is more likely that these poor people commit suicide, have anxiety and depression. And the way people speak to vulnerable communities is a problem with which it also happens to me.
“So, both things that I can sustain in my hand. How can we address this problem with the type of decency that I think, you know, it is inherent to you but not always expressed on the subject?”

Pak Gazette Digital communicated with schools and families affected by the Inclusion policies of Trans athletes from California during the last year for their thoughts about the recent Newsom comments.
Stone Ridge Christian School in Merced, California, made his female volleyball team lose a playoff game to San Francisco Waldorf in the fall due to the presence of a transgender athlete in the Waldorf team. It was a decision that ended the season of Stone Ridge Christian because Newsom’s policies forced the female volleyball team to a situation in which he would have to refuse to play to avoid compromising religious beliefs.
“What is really unfair is the Governor Newsom that males compete in women’s sports despite admitting that it is unfair. While it is common sense that men and women compete in their own teams, this is especially worrying as a religious school,” said Stone Ridge Ride Christian School, Julie Fagudes Fagudes Digital.
In Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California, a situation that involves a trans athlete in the female Cross Cross team caused a national scrutiny, a demand for two girls in the team and several students who were punished for using “Save Girls Sports” shirts in protest.
Cynthia Slavin, the mother of one of the girls who filed a lawsuit against the Unified School District of Riverside, told Pak Gazette Digital that she believes that Newsom is “marginalizing” young biological women with their position.

“I am grateful that Gavin Newsom said that having boys in the sport of girls is unfair. I am grateful that he also has empathy for all people, but that is not enough. The really unfair thing is that he has the power to do something about this problem, but he does not.
“Not taking measures or trying to find a plan, adds to division and tension in our state. He is increasing stress and mental problems not only for the ‘marginalized’ group, but for my daughter Kaitlyn and all other girls who do not agree with biological boys who invade their spaces. It is helping biological girls to become the new marginalized group.”
The neighboring School District of Jurupa (JUPD) has been dealing with a recent national controversy that involves a trans athlete athlete in Jurupa Valley High School (Juvhs) that has dominated female opponents by amazing margins in the triple jump this season.
Jaspriya Singh, former athlete and sister of Juvhs of a current athlete in the female Cross Cross team, regrets the situation that Newsom has allowed.

“My sister has tirelessly trained athletics, dedicating innumerable hours to improve her performance. When she is forced to compete against biological men, she creates an unfair playing field that undermines her hard work and opportunities.
“It’s not just about sports. It is about ensuring that girls have the same opportunities to excel and achieve their dreams without an unfair disadvantage. That is why it is so important to fight for the policies that women really maintain for women for women.”
A JUPD teacher told Pak Gazette Digital under the condition of anonymity that Newsom is not being genuine in his latest comments.
How the transgender in sports changed the 2024 elections and lit a national counterculture
“As a teacher in southern California, I don’t believe or trust the sudden change of Gavin Newsom posture in transgender athletes in girls’ sports,” said the teacher.
“For years, it has defended policies that force schools to comply with the rules of inclusion, ignoring the concerns of athletes, parents and educators. Now, in a conversation with Charlie Kirk, does it claim to see injustice in this?
“It is difficult to take seriously when their policies still allow and enforce what he now questions. If he really cared about justice in sports, he would take real measures, he would not only change his rhetoric when he is politically convenient.”
The former JUPD teacher, Jessica Tapia, who states that the district dismissed her for her position on the subject, says the problem is driving the good teachers of the California schools.

“Even so, to this day, it is difficult for me to understand what happened to me. We are losing good teachers due to how detrimental ideology is, the same teachers who fight for the truth and true protection of the students,” Tapia told Pak Gazette Digital.
The president of the Board of the Unified School District of Rabbit Valley, Sonja Shaw, told Pak Gazette Digital, that her district has dealt with multiple informed incidents of biological men who wear girls’ locker room, calling Newsom “weak” for allowing it.
“You’ve seen it. Obviously you know it, and you haven’t done anything, and a Charlie Kirk is needed to admit it? It’s not what leaders do,” Shaw said.
“At this time we have a lot of confusion. We have the parents who think that their girls are safe until a boy in the field receives their daughters in the field, in the pool or even in the locker room and a bathroom. So, to sit and say that it is unfair but not put teeth, I think it is weak. It shows who it is and continues to be.”
Amber French, swimmer of Division I at the Baptist University of California, has witnessed multiple transgender athletes who compete against young women in their state and is asking Newsom to take measures in this regard.
“Every year we have another man who plays in women’s sports and we remove our opportunities. Note that it is never the other way around. Gavin Newsom recognizes injustice but has done nothing to protect female athletes in California,” French told Pak Gazette Digital.
“It is time for Governor Newsom to do something about the injustice he recognizes. The same decency that advocates should apply a hundred times to women, protecting their changing rooms and opportunities.”

Until now, the State has refused to comply with the executive order of President Donald Trump to keep biological men out of girls’ sports since it was signed on February 5, risking a possible loss of federal education funds.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) is under investigation by the United States Department of Education for possible violations of Title IX related to the problem.
“The CIF provides students with the opportunity to belong, connect and compete in educational experiences in accordance with the California Law. [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] that allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including sports teams and contests, according to the student’s gender identity, regardless of the gender that appears in the student’s records, “said a CIF statement at that time.
Pak Gazette Digital contacted CIF for reaction to Newsom’s latest comments.
