NFL Chris Conley receiver retires after 10 years to attend the film school

The NFL veteran receiver, Chris Conley, leaves football to pursue his other passions.

Conley, 32, announced his NFL withdrawal after 10 seasons with a publication on social networks, explaining that he finally achieved what he set out to do when he was a child.

“When I was a child, I wrote a set of goals. In that list I was ‘playing 10 years in the NFL’. Now that this goal has been achieved, it is time to establish something new,” Conley, who spent the last two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, wrote.

“The last 10 years have been a dream. Having the opportunity to play in the League was an honor and if I was catching touchdowns or blocking for them, I really gave everything.”

Conley’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, told NFL Network Conley will register at Georgia University to pursue his dreams of becoming a filmmaker.

“God does not make mistakes and I am grateful that this has shown me throughout my career,” said Conley’s publication. “He is more than enough. See you in the next dream.”

A third -round selection of Georgia, Conley was recruited by the Kansas City bosses, with whom he played four seasons. He also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.

Conley made his only appearance in the Super Bowl against his former team, the Chiefs, in 2024. He caught a pass for 18 yards in the defeat 25-22 of the Niners.

He finished his career with 226 receptions for 2,998 yards and 15 touchdowns.
