NFL Draft: Abdul Carter presents the case for superior selection

The former Penn State star, Abdul Carter, could be the number 1 general selection of the Tennessee Titans in the NFL 2025 draft next month.

The Titans will have much to weigh in the weeks before the Draft.

Carter is an option, but the quartbacks CAM Ward and Shedeur Sanders could also be selected.

The outstanding edge corridor made his case to be the best choice in Penn State Pro Day.

“I think only my general impact on the game,” he said, through ESPN. “My versatility. I can play multiple positions, and I feel that, most importantly, I take a step forward when I need it more when time comes. When you need someone to make that great play, I feel that I am the guy who makes that great game.

“At the end of the day, I do better people around me, only take them in double teams, bringing more attention, freeing someone else so they can play and only my general impact on the game.”

Carter did not participate in the Professional Day because he is recovering from an arm injury he suffered during the university soccer playoff. He said the arm is “practically” 100%. He also took care of a stress reaction on his right foot, but kept that he felt no pain and did not need surgery.

The main prospect of NFL Ashton Jeanty is ‘Special Talent’ and ‘Awesome Kid’, says the university coach

“Those great defensive players, you look in history, can affect the game as much as a field marshal,” he added. “There have been defensive players who have taken care of a game just at the end of the Super Bowl in those playoff scenes where you really need that great defensive player. And it also makes people around them better. So, I want to say that, see how defensive players can take care of a game, we are just like a quarterback.”

Carter was the defensive player of the year 2024 Big Ten. He had 24 cups for a loss and 12 catches in 16 games and was an All-American for the first time.

If the Titans do not choose Carter, the Cleveland Browns could also be on the market for another superior defensive player.

According to the reports, Carter had dinner with Browns Brass on Thursday night.
